Crufts > World Cup > 2014

Show Report
Show: Crufts 2014 Birmingham
Date: 09/03/2014
Class: Obedience World Cup
Judge: Stella Henstridge

It was a great honour to be invited to judge this event at Crufts and I would like to thank Crufts Committee for this prestigious invitation.
A big thank you must go to Roy Page and Richard Kebble for their hard work and assistance in the preparation before the event and on the day itself.
Judging this competition could not have been achieved successfully without a good team behind me, which I definitely had in Jackie Roddick, Debbie Giddens, Wendy Foster, Heather Puckett, John Henstridge, Rita Marquand, Jenny Prevel and Bev Smith. Thank you for all your hard work, it was an honour to judge this year’s competition but even more so to work with this team. I thoroughly enjoyed the day, thank you all.
Special thanks to Jane and Paul Meredith, Janet Plant, Ann Rogers and Lynn Collins for helping us with our preparations beforehand and the Saturday evening rehearsal.

There is always a very good atmosphere around the ring and this year was no exception. The lead up to the parade and the parade it’s self has become a large feature of the event with a lot of spectator involvement, enjoyed by everyone.
This year nine teams took part these were Germany, Belgium, Northern Ireland, Holland, Wales, Republic Of Ireland, Scotland, England and Canada. Although Canada one had 1 dog in the team, thank you for taking part.
I hope you all enjoyed your time on the green carpet. Thank you all for taking part and being so sporting. I would also like to thank all competitors for presenting themselves to the collecting ring in plenty of time for their rounds. This was very helpful to my collecting ring stewards.

Individual Results:

1st Mary Ray and Levi, OB CH Colliewood Blue Jeans W/S (England).

Team Places:
1st Wales The team members were, Helen Connolly with Georgia, Michelle Dunscombe with Maverick and Jane Walker with Mair. They were a good strong team with all members producing good rounds and completing all exercises well. With two of the individual places coming from this team. Congratulations on your win.

2nd England The team members were Philomena Barnes with Jezzie, Pat Watson with Flick and Mary Ray with Levi. Another good strong team with all members producing good rounds and completing the ring work well. There but for stays it would have been a different story. Congratulations on gaining 2nd place

3rd Holland The team members were Bernou ter Voorde with Lizzie, Guus Scholten with Gucci and Karin Stegmeijer with McCay. As always very strong contenders for this competition. The retrieve over the hurdle and the sendaway proved a little costly today. Congratulations on gaining 3rd place.
